Contest Details
Who may participate: Participants must be active subscribers. Adults may help children. We recognize children using tools need supervision.
The nuts and bolts of the contest: Submit thorough, well-written instructions on how to build the house. Include habitat and other tips where to install for best results. If possible, photograph the steps, or otherwise illustrate steps with drawings. Be neat. At the minimum, photograph the finished project, find someone to photograph it for you, or send the project to us. If you choose the latter, we will not return the project unless you pay for return shipment. Projects sent to us may be distributed by us for use as we deem best, including giving to widows, shut-ins, homes, or otherwise.
Awards: First place winner will receive a $150 gift certificate to a hardware store for tools of your choice. Second place will receive a $125 gift certificate. Third place will receive a $100 gift certificate. Beyond the first three placements, any more chosen for “Learning by Doing” will receive awards of some sort. Excluded are photos only showing entries but not including the instructions, should we choose to show those.
Deadline: Send us your story and photos (or project) by January 15, 2020.
Submissions should include: Name(s) of all who contributed, address, and subscriber renewal code.
Mail to: Birdhouse Contest, Nature Friend, 4253 Woodcock Lane, Dayton, VA 22821.
