Two comets in our skies are worth keeping tabs on. The best one is expected to be C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). It is predicted to be brightest October 31 or November 1, possibly visible without optic aid, when viewed from dark skies.
C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) is a dimmer comet you can point your telescope to in the early morning sky. Its closest approach to Earth will be November 26, if it survives its closest approach to the sun it took today, October 8. Closest to Earth does not automatically mean the brightest. Comet Lemmon was closest to Earth October 21, but, as I write this, predictions of maximum brightness are ten nights later. Sometimes maximum brightness is earlier than closest approach to Earth.
